1954 Ferrari 250 Monza #0442Ownership Proveance:

Sold new to Franco Cornacchia's Scuderia Guastalla and
campaigned in Europe and at the Carrera Panamericana
After the 1954 Carrera Panamericana, Luigi Chinetti & Hans
Tanner sold the car to Manfredo Lippmann who was inspired to
buy the car in November 1954, after he competed against it in the
1954 Carrera. Mr. Lippmann had it shipped to Guatemala City
from Mexico after repainting it in the Guatemalan colors of Blue
and White & gold.
In 1959 Mr. Lippmann sold it to Iann McArvey-Munn, the son-in-law of a future President of Guatemala.
After barely a year McArvey-Munn sold it to a diplomat at the
French consulate in New York City who then apparently
abandoned it in a New York parking garage.
Around 1960, purchased by a Mr. Evans who exported it to
England. Shortly thereafter it turned up at Franco-Britannic
Motors in Paris, where it was painted dark blue with white seats.
Then in 1963, it was purchased by Peter Burroughs for $2,900,
0442 M then made the trip back across the Atlantic to Burroughs'
home in Port Washington on Long Island where he used it as his
daily driver.
In 1964 Burroughs sold the car for $2,800 to John Delamaterin
1964
From Delamater it went immediately to Del Lee in New Orleans
Then to a Mr. Goldstein in Miami, Florida
Then to Sydney Stoldt in Ridgewood, New Jersey
In 1971 it was offered by Wide World of Cars. Bill Serri spotted 0442 M at Wide World of Cars and fell for it, selling his Ferrari 275 GTS and paid $15,000 for the car.
As of 11/02 the car resides in the San Francisco area.
